The Southern Gothic Revival

Just a quick plug -- a comedy I directed back in 2003, Southern Gothic Novel, is coming back to New York for a series of performances at Stage Left Studios over the next few months. The show has been an award-winning hit for its author and performer, Frank Blocker, since its premiere; I'd love to take credit for its success, but the truth is that Frank is a force of nature on stage unlike anyone else I've ever had the pleasure of directing. If you haven't caught it before, you should definitely try to get there. Frank is an astonishing physical comedian; in this sendup of Southern pulp serials, he plays nearly two dozen characters involved in a white-slavery kidnapping scandal. Yes, it IS set in a trailer park. Why do you ask? ;-)
