The Reality Of Oil

As a follow-up to yesterday's post, here's the link to the full New Yorker article I quoted in the comments about oil production. Yes, McCain has Obama over a barrel (heh) at the moment, but the truth's the truth: oil over-consumption will not be fixed by easy, politically-friendly solutions. The only way to solve the oil problem is to A) drive a lot less or B) buy a hybrid or C) both or D) stop driving altogether. It sucks, but that's the truth.

Instituting a SUV tax and using the proceeds to build more public transportation would make a huge difference.
