Broadway producers seem hell-bent on making sure that the middle class never attends theatre again. What else can be the reason for the latest insane price-gouging tactic? Are you freakin' kidding me?
Unlike the other bad ideas, however, this will be a deal killer...for most tall people, anyway. Broadway theatres were built during a time when human beings were generally smaller (and thinner), so most people over the height of 6' have trouble in a seat without the extra legroom provided by an aisle seat.
I'd say that tall people could just move up to the mezzanine, but since most of the fall shows have announced pricing for the mezz that equals the orchestra pricing, there won't be much relief there.
The only answer? Skip it entirely, and go to Off-Broadway. The plays are better there, anyway.
