The Amazing Race Gets Ready, Set...
The surprisingly quick cancellation of CBS's Viva Laughlin has brought Christmas a little early this year, pushing The Amazing Race up in the schedule from next January to November 4th...less than two weeks away! The show's slew of Emmy Awards only begins to tell the tale of this show, which is hands-down the best reality show on television that isn't named Project Runway. (And it's just what we need to remove the foul taste of bile in our mouth left over from this summer's Big Brother crapfest.)
As far as the new around-the-world racing teams go, I'm already in love with Tennesse goths Kynt and Vyxsin (Pink animal print t-shirts! Work it!), brother and sister pair Azaria and Hendekea (they fight a lot!), and Episcopal ministers/lesbian lovers Kate and Pat (!!!!). I'm also curious about Ari and Staella, "best friends" from California. Ari doesn't say he's gay in his bio, but, well, you tell me: "Ari is catty and not afraid to speak his mind...Ari describes himself as mean, rude and hilarious and enjoys dancing and talking trash to people." I wonder if he's friends with Perez Hilton?
