Idol, Au Revoir: LaKisha Jones

Ultimately, the correct choice was made in ejecting LaKisha Jones from the American Idol arena last night. She has an enormous voice, but not an especially complex one; as her energy and spirits waned throughout the competition, she became less and less interesting to watch. I think she'll have a career, however...especially if she follows her voice's natural strengths into R&B or dance. As for next week's semi-finals, it's relatively easy to predict that it'll come down to Blake or Jordin leaving...based on which of them has the better night next Tuesday. I'm guessing that beatboxing will only take someone so far.

P.S. - Barry Gibb singing "To Love Somebody" is the scariest thing I've ever seen, and that includes both The Exorcist and The Omen. I'm going to have nightmares.

P.P.S. - Is it just me, or has Ryan Seacrest finally become insufferable? From his groan-worthy jokes about Sanjaya to trading hair tips with Jessica Alba, I've decided that it's time someone put a stop to his unique brand of mediocrity. And by "put a stop" to it, I mean by hitting him in the face with a brick. Something subtle like that.

P.P.P.S. - Idol was the least interesting hour on TV last night...because Lost and the Jericho season finale both rocked! Both series are exhibiting tremendous storytelling with fearless imagination. Omigod John Locke!
