Song of the Summer

Inspired by Arjan Writes, I considered the singles of Summer 2006. There were tracks I detested...and let's name them, shall we? Nelly Furtado's exercise in Chinese water torture, "Promiscuous"; "Buttons" by the Pussycat Dolls; Paris Hilton's laugh riot "Stars Are Blind"; and Shakira's totally played out "Hips Don't Lie". Now, on to the better stuff.

Pick one from below, and tell us why in the comments. The winning song will receive the glory of being chosen by ModFab Readers, who are the supreme purveyors of taste on at least four continents. And in case you need to listen once more:

Beyonce "Deja Vu"; Christina Aguilera "Ain't No Other Man"; Corinne Bailey Rae "Put Your Records On"; Fergie "London Bridge"; Gnarls Barkley "Crazy"; India.Arie "I Am Not My Hair"; Jessica Simpson "A Public Affair"; Kelis "Bossy"; Madonna "Get Together"; Panic at the Disco "I Write Sins Not Tragedies"; Paul Oakenfold feat. Brittany Murphy "Faster Kill Pussycat"; Pet Shop Boys "Minimal"; Rihanna "S.O.S."; Scissor Sisters "I Don't Feel Like Dancin"; Shape:UK "Incredible"

Song of Summer

Which tune exemplifies the summer of 2006?
