This Week in Modern Fabulousity - May 29, 2006

When you're done relaxing for your Memorial Day, begin your summer thusly:

EATS: Burgers and Cupcakes
open daily - 458 9th Avenue at 36th Street, NYC
Because God's greatest foods deserve a restaurant of their very own. (Right, Melissa?)

EPHEMERA: Bond. James Bond.
thru July 12 - Posteritati - 239 Centre St, NYC
Because a showing of rare (and expensive) vintage movie posters from the James Bond franchise will get us through to the November opening of Casino Royale.

ART: No Limits, Just Edges: Jackson Pollock on Paper
thru September 29 - Guggenheim Museum - 1071 5th Avenue at 89th Street, NYC
Because no one besides Da Vinci challenged the boundaries of art more than Pollock.

May 31 - 7am to 7pm - storefront window at Chashama - 266 West 37th Street
Because Michael Helland and Daniel Linehan are the hottest queer choreographers in town (and a real life couple to boot), and the piece is bound to perk up the lunch hour crowds of the garment district.

MUSIC: Kenny Mellman + Neal Medlyn = Robert Kelly
Monday 5/29 at 10pm, Tuesday 5/30 at 7pm
Mo Pitkin's House of Satisfaction, 34 Avenue A at 2nd Street, NYC

Because the new musical revue of Neal Medlyn (the self-described Paris Hilton of Performance Art) and Kenny Mellman (Kiki and Herb) is constructed entirely from the back catalog of R. Kelly. I can't wait for "Trapped in the Closet" played the way it always should have been!
