Sondheim's Company Moves To Broadway

The fall theatre season just got a lot more interesting, with the imminent arrival of Company, the Stephen Sondheim musical that's been garnering rave reviews in Cincinnati. Directed by John Doyle -- whose breathtaking Brechtian production of Sweeney Todd is currently on Broadway, the frontrunner for the Tony Award -- Company stars Raul Esparza, who you might know from Cabaret, Taboo, or The Normal Heart. Can Doyle win two years in a row? I think so. (An added plus in this article is confirmation of the rumors about The Little Dog Laughed, the brilliantly sharp gay comedy that closed off Broadway in February. It's also planned for Broadway in the fall, from producer Roy Gabay. Gabay yay!)
