Reviews of the Project Runway Collections

The critics are weighing in on our Project Runway finalists: most stay neutral on who was best, but you know us...we're reading between the lines. Reuters' Chris Michaud complimented Daniel's "loose, rich and decidedly wearable" designs, but called Kara's work "heavy on ruffles or puffy construction." The Associated Press noted that Santino's collection "was noticeably muted in comparison with his work on other episodes, often criticized as being too loud."

Enough with the veiled views...we want some smacking around! Blogger Queerty was in attendance at the shows, and didn't mince words: "the mop-headed hipster [Daniel V.] let me down big time. His clothes were boring. The colors were safe. The fit was horrible....Kara was the day’s biggest surprise. Who would have known she had a personality....Poor Chloe...sadly her collection was the worst."

But Dan Fans, take hope from Jennifer Braun's excellent summation in The Star-Ledger: "The bombastic Santino probably had the weakest collection, just a bunch of pretty pink and green dresses...Chloe proved to have great tailoring chops, with some intricate work in her satin dresses. But in the end, her whole collection looked like one prom dress after another. Our prediction is that either Kara or Daniel will win the show's becoming-a-designer contest; Kara's show was the only one with real funk, although most of it was from the knit hats and other funky accessories she layered on her pretty color-block dresses. Daniel's collection was truly accomplished: Beautifully tailored, and genuinely chic."

Donna Cato of The Mercury News echoed the sentiment: "I'm rooting for Daniel. I thought he showed the most cohesive collection that included pieces that incorporated fall trends like military touches. He had a double-breasted,white princess coat that I would love to wear."
