Friday Hot Guy Blogging: The Olympic Hotties

The Opening Ceremonies of the 2006 Winter Olympic Games are tonight, broadcast worldwide live from Torino, Italy. I know, you're all excited for the curling and luge competitions. ModFab, however, has other less lofty items on our minds...a viewing guide of another kind. Here (in no particular order) are the U.S. Olympians that over the next two weeks will make us want to hit the bobsled, if you get our snowdrift:

Apolo Anton Ohno (Short Track Speed Skating) - Braided (see above) or wavy, Ohno is our favorite Olympic dreamboat. After winning controversial silver and gold medals in 2002, Ohno received death threats but continued to win world and national championships. He also breakdances, which is freakishly retro-hot. And that smile! We just melt under his skates.

Seth Westcott (Snowboard Cross) - A first-time Olympian, Wescott won the gold medal at the 2005 World Championships. He trains by big-mountain riding in Alaska, which involves being dropped from a helicopter onto a mountain that he believes no one has ever ridden before. Can you say alpha-dog?

Eric Camerota and Brett Camerota (Nordic Combined) - Oh. My. Jesus. TWINS. Straight guys aren't the only ones who fantasize about getting it on with twins, people. Especially super sexy Olympic Twins. Though neither of them are predicted to factor into the awards (37th and 21st places in 2003), after their event they are welcome to relax naked on the bearskin rug of my chalet for as long as they want.

Shani Davis (Speed Skating) - Davis is the the first African-American to make the U.S. Olympic speed skating team; last year, he set the world record in the men's 1500m, becoming the first African-American to win the world allround title. His best friend is fellow Olympic hottie Apolo Anton Ohno. (Shani's Website)

Jeremy Bloom (Freestyle Skiing/Moguls) - After coming in a disappointing 9th in 2002 at Salt Lake, Bloom is bouncing back. He has, inbetween skiing gigs, played football for the University of Colorado, and plans to enter the 2006 NFL Draft. A reluctant model, he's shot layouts for GQ, Abercrombie & Fitch and Under Armour.

Kris Freeman (Cross-Country Skiing) - Freeman came in fourth at the 2003 World Championships, the best showing by an American in the sport in twenty years. After a viral infection hurt his showing last year, he's primed for a return to glory. He's also a diabetic, and a blonde blue-eyed god.

Bode Miller (Alpine Skiing) - Miller is the reigning champion in the World Cup overall, the most coveted prize in Alpine skiing, and is a legitimate medal contender in all five men's events. A party boy at heart, he's been quoted that skiiers should have more time during the season to party. Like the party in my pants, to which is definitely invited.
