Rent Watch: The Ziegfeld Midnight Screening

Alright, Rentfreaks....this is the moment. No day but today. The film's coming out, and you can be the first to see it, along with thousands of other people who can sing the entire score from memory and dream of living at the Life Cafe. It's your version of a Trekkie conference where you learn to speak Klingon, or Lord of the Rings if all the hobbits were performance artists in the East Village.

At New York's Ziegfeld Theater, Rent will begin showings at midnight on November 22nd. Tickets are on sale at MovieFone; if you've ever been to the Ziegfeld, you know it's a small, intimate experience...only about 4 gazillion seats. (I'm making jokes, of course, but you know how I feel about the film. It's beyond special. I'm too old to stay up that late on a school night, but if I were ten years younger, it would totally be worth it.)

P.S. -- I just watched Rosario Dawson talk about her poor East Village childhood on The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, and she's wearing a very un-Rent-like business suit and a Barbara Boxer-ish flip haircut. Disconcerting.
